    About the Artist:
Using Reclaimed Fabrics To Make New Friends
I have an amazing job. I've been a maker all my life and the internet has made it possible to show my work to the world.
I remember that when I went for my interview at Art School, I was asked what I'd like to be doing in 10 years. I replied that I would like to have a little shop where I could sell all the things I'd made. When Etsy came on the scene, so many years later, I was able to fulfill that dream! I opened my shop in 2006 and have been a happy shop keeper ever since.
I work out of my house in Arlington, Massachusetts which is a suburb of Boston. My favorite materials are what I refer to as rescued fabrics- that is fabric that would otherwise become part of the waste stream. The fabrics I prefer come from reclaimed clothing, damaged yard goods, fabric remnants, and someone's un-loved stash. I combine those fabrics with new 100% wool felt and special new fabrics to brin
g my fabric creations to life. I am always on the hunt for inspiring colors and patterns.
And a few other things about me-
I am one of the ten doll-makers profiled in Jenny Doh's book, We Make Dolls. I contributed 2 patterns for the book.
I am working with Land Of Nod on a line of dolls that will be coming out in October 2012.
Sometimes I come out of my studio and do craft markets. Check out my work in person at the Renegade Craft Markets in Brooklyn, San Francisco and Chicago.
