Description

You are looking a set of etched top radiator screens for the Atlas GE U33c, U36c, U34ch and C30-7 locomotive.  The screens replace the molded screens in the radiator section of the model.  The Atlas radiator piece is removable from the model and has to have the molded screens removed.  We suggest drilling pilot holes in the corners of the screened area and then cutting the screens using a fine jewelers saw.  Note that the Atlas part has a screened area that is prototypically too wide.  That is why one row of screen is left at the outer edge of both sides.  If you prefer, you can remove all of the screened area and rebuild using styrene.  The etched screen is then attached over the plastic housing by CA.  Also note that the large raised rectangular section of the radiator top piece has to be removed.  A photo of a modified readiator section has been included in the photos above.  Please note that you are only getting the etched screens.  You are NOT receiving the plastic Atlas housing.  The parts are HO Scale. The material is stainless steel and is ridiculously sturdy compared to thin etched brass.
